We are going to see a bunch of smartphone launches next month. There will be new smartphones launching in the country - two by Nokia, one each by Samsung, Realme, Vivo, OnePlus and Motorola. We have shortlisted some of the best upcoming smartphones in this article.

New iPhones every year launch in September, but this year it will happen in October as production has been delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Google gearing up for the launch of Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G smartphones on September 30. The same day Google can confirm Pixel 4a India sale date.

Here’s the list of the expected upcoming smartphones in October 2020 in India.

    iPhone 12 Mini


    Apple will launch four new iPhone models under the upcoming iPhone 12 series, but there is said to be an additional surprise, the iPhone 12 Mini. A report is doing the rounds leaking a new iPhone model, to be called iPhone Mini. Apple will launch the new iPhone 12 series in October and they will come with the new A14 Bionic chip and better cameras. The iPhone 12 series will start at $649 (around Rs 49,220).

    So, iPhone 12 is going to be cheaper than both current OnePlus 8 (for US market) and even the predecessor, iPhone 11. Further, the report claims the iPhone 12 with 6.1-inch OLED screen model and LiDAR sensors will be priced at $999 (around Rs 95,750). The availability details will be confirmed soon.

    iPhone 12


    The base model of the series, the Apple iPhone 12 will come with a 5.4-inch OLED Super Retina display. iPhone 12 will be available in three different storage variants: 4GB RAM, 128GB and 256GB models. The upcoming iPhone 12 will be powered by the latest Apple A14 chipset. It will support 5G with a dual-camera system at the back.

    iPhone 12 price will start at $649. The 128GB iPhone 12 will cost $649 (around Rs 49,200) and 256GB iPhone 12 will cost $749 (around Rs 56,800).

    Apple iPhone 12 Max


    The next in the series, the Apple iPhone 12 Max will feature a larger 6.1-inch OLED Super Retina display screen with similar specifications as iPhone 12. The iPhone 12 Max will also be available in two storage models: 128GB and 256GB versions.

    The base iPhone 12 Max with 128GB storage will cost $749 (around Rs 56,800) and the 256GB iPhone 12 Max will cost $849 (around Rs 64,400).

    Apple iPhone 12 Pro


    Moving up, the iPhone 12 Pro will come with a 6.1-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display with 10-bit colour depth, manufactured by Samsung. Apple iPhone 13 Pro will be powered by Apple Bionic A14 chipset, 6GB RAM and will be available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage models. iPhone 12 Pro will feature a Stainless Steel body with 5G support and Triple rear cameras with LiDAR.

    iPhone 12 Pro 128GB, 256GB and 512GB models will cost $999 (around Rs 75,700), $1,099 (around Rs 83,300) and $1,299 (around Rs 98,500) respectively.

    Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max


    The top-end iPhone 12 model of the series, the iPhone 12 Pro Max will feature a 6.7-inch Samsung OLED Super Retina XDR display with 10-bit colour depth with similar features as iPhone 12 Pro. It will also be available with 6GB RAM in three storage options: 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. iPhone 12 Pro Max will also feature a Stainless Steel body, 5G support and Triple rear cameras with LiDAR.

    iPhone 12 Pro Max 128GB, 256GB and 512GB models will cost $1,099 (around Rs 83,300), $1,199 (around Rs 90,900) and $1,399 (around Rs 1,06,000) respectively.

    Vivo S20 SE

    Vivo V20 SE is also likely to launch in India next month. The phone was recently launched in Malaysia at MYR 1,199 (approx. Rs. 21,300) for the single 8GB + 128GB variant. It comes in Gravity Black and Oxygen Blue colour options.

    Vivo V20 SE features a 6.44-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, 60Hz refresh rate and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a 2GHz Snapdragon 665 11nm processor with Adreno 610 GPU coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The storage is expandable up to 1TB with microSD.

    For the camera, the Vivo V20 SE has a triple-camera setup with a combination of a 48-megapixel with f/1.8 aperture, LED flash, an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, the phone has a 32-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.

    On the battery front, the phone has a battery capacity of 4000mAh with 33W fast charging. It runs Android 10 with Funtouch OS 11. The phone also features an in-display fingerprint scanner.

    Realme X3 Pro


    Realme X3 Pro is expected to be unveiled in October 2020. The company recently announced the 125W UltraDART fast charging technology, and Realme X3 Pro could become the first device to come with the latest charging solution. The device may feature the upcoming 108MP camera sensor from Samsung, the HM2 108MP lens as their primary sensor. Realme X3 Pro will replace Realme X2 Pro in the entry-premium category.

    Realme X3 Pro will have Snapdragon 865 or Snapdragon 865 Plus powering it with support for 65W / 125 super-fast charging technology. As the X3 series, the Realme X3 Pro series may have two variants as well. Realme X3 Pro BIS certification has been confirmed as well, so the launch won’t take much time.

    Realme 7 Pro SE


    Earlier this month, Realme launched its Realme 7 and 7 Pro budget devices. Now Realme is teasing a new smartphone that will launch in India soon which will be the Realme 7 Pro SE. The Realme 7 Pro SE is likely to be the rebranded version of Realme 7i that debuted in Indonesia a few days back.

    Realme 7 Pro SE will come with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels, 90Hz refresh rate, Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It has a single hole-punch display at the front for the selfie camera. The phone will have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

    The smartphone will be powered by the 2GHz Snapdragon 662 octa-core processor paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The storage can be expanded by up to 256GB storage. Realme 7 Pro SE will be backed up by a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support and it runs on Android 10 based on Realme UI.

    On the camera front, the phone will have a 64-megapixel primary lens with f/1.8 aperture, LED flash, 8-megapixel 119° ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel black and white sensor with an f/2.4 lens and a 2-megapixel macro shooter with an f/2.4 aperture. For the front, there will be a 16-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.1 aperture.

    Poco F2 Pro / Poco X2 Pro


    Poco F2 Pro has already been officially unveiled in Europe, expected in India sometime soon. Redmi K30 Pro 4G is a remodelled Poco F2 Pro. Poco F2 Pro features a 6.67-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display with a refresh rate of 60Hz. The Poco device is said to be powered by Snapdragon 865 with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Poco F2 Pro has been priced at EUR 499 (around Rs 41,500) for the base model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

    Coming to optics, Poco F2 Pro will have a 20-megapixel pop-up camera and a quad rear camera setup featuring a 64-megapixel primary lens. It will house a 4,700mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.

    Pixel 5/Pixel 4a 5G


    Google gearing up for the launch of Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G smartphones on September 30. The same day Google can confirm Pixel 4a India sale date. Previously an internal document from a German branch of Vodafone revealed Google Pixel 4a 5G and Google Pixel 5 are launching in Germany. Pixel 5 was leaked in all its glory on its official Twitter handle for Japan. Google tweeted a Pixel 5 video teaser by accident (at least Google says!) in Japan.

    The new design and 5G support have been confirmed. Pixel 5 will come with a hole-punch design as revealed in the leaked teaser. Pixel 5 price in Japan is set at JPY 74,800 (around INR 52,250). We don’t know about the storage versions yet.

    Samsung Galaxy F41

    Samsung Galaxy F41 will be launched in India on October 8th. The event will be live-streamed via Samsung’s official channels on October 8th at 5:30 PM IST. The phone will be Flipkart exclusive in the country. The phone is likely to be offered in Black, Blue, and Green colour options.

    As per leaks, the Samsung Galaxy F41 will feature a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Infinity-U Super AMOLED display with 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution. It might be powered by Octa-Core Exynos 9611 coupled with 6GB RAM and 64 GB / 128 GB of internal storage.

    The phone is said to come with a triple rear camera 64MP rear camera, 8MP ultra-wide and a depth / macro sensor. It may feature a 32-megapixel front camera. It may run Android 10 with One UI. There will be a 6000mAh battery with 15W fast charging.

    Nokia 2.4

    Nokia 2.4 features a 6.5-inch HD+ display with 720 x 1600 pixels resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. It has a dual rear camera of 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, 5P lens and 2-megapixel secondary depth camera. The phone has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.4 aperture, 3P lens and support for Face Unlock.

    Nokia 2.4 runs Android 10 which is said to be upgradable to Android 11. It has a 4500mAh battery that promises 2 days of battery life. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 processor coupled with up to 3GB RAM and 64GB storage. It has expandable memory up to 512GB with microSD.

    The phone measures 165.85 x 76.30 x 8.69mm and the weight is 189 grams. The connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS + GLONASS, micro USB and 3.5 mm headphone jack. The phone also comes with a dedicated Google Assistant Button and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

    Mi 10T/Mi 10T Pro


    Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro will be unveiled initially, and then will be available in India in October. The leaked Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro specs reveal triple camera setup consisting of a 108MP primary sensor paired with a 20MP sensor with an ultra-wide lens and a 12MP sensor with a telephoto lens. Upfront, the Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro will have a top left-aligned punch-hole with the 20MP sensor.

    The regular Mi 10T is said to feature a 64MP primary sensor instead of the 108MP sensor as on the Pro model. Both Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro will run on MIUI 12 based on Android 10 out of the box. Lastly, the devices will be backed by a 5,000mAh battery.

    Both the upcoming Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. Mi 10T Pro live images are out alongside phone storage configurations: 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. The Mi 10T Pro leaked model number confirms a 144Hz refresh rate display.

    Mi 10T Pro 5G model may come as a part of the series with 5G support. The company has shipped models with default 5G feature, so probably it will be called Mi 10T Pro 5G. As far as the design goes, the Mi 10T Pro live photos revealed a grey back panel with a three-camera setup. The M2007J3SG model aka believed Mi 10T Pro will house a 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging technology.

    OnePlus 8T 5G

    OnePlus will launch OnePlus 8T 5G flagship smartphone on October 14.  The OnePlus 8T 5G launch event will be streamed online on October 14 at 7:30 pm IST on the company website. The phone will be available on Amazon India device as the listing has shown up on Amazon India's homepage.

    OnePlus 8T is expected to have a 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate.  It is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 865+ which is the latest from Qualcomm and is also featuring in many other flagships. The device is said to arrive in 2 variants with 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage and 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage with storage expansion support.

    The phone is likely to have a quad-camera setup with the main sensor being a 48MP shooter, a 16MP wide-angle camera, a 2MP portrait lens, and a 5MP macro sensor. On the front, we should have a 32MP shooter. The phone is rumoured to be backed by a 4500mAh battery with support for 65W charging which will be a first from the company.
