The central government has closed 59 apps citing national security, most of the apps which have been discontinued include China apps. However, it is not yet clear what the scale of app closure has been set. If civil society groups like the Internet Freedom Foundation are to be believed, then this ban does not really come under section 69A of the IT Act. But the ongoing tension between China and India may take some time to recover. In such a situation, if you are a daily user of any of the banned 59 apps, then there are many options for you.
